Will racking the slide for a striker fire pistol eject the LaserLyte cartridge? If not, how is the laser removed from the chamber? A wood/plastic rod?

Operating the slide will not eject the LaserLyte Laser Trainer Pistol Cartridge. Once you are finished with it you will have to manual extract the LaserLyte Laser Trainer Pistol Cartridge by using something like a cleaning rod.

Yes it can be left in the chamber for a short time but I would not leave it in for too long.

For a 9mm, do you have to rack every time?

You would have to rack the slide for every shot to reset the trigger so that the striker impacts the back of the laser to activate it when the trigger is pulled.
