Operating the slide will not eject the LaserLyte Laser Trainer Pistol Cartridge. Once you are finished with it you will have to manual extract the LaserLyte Laser Trainer Pistol Cartridge by using something like a cleaning rod.

For a 9mm, do you have to rack every time?

You would have to rack the slide for every shot to reset the trigger so that the striker impacts the back of the laser to activate it when the trigger is pulled.
