This should have no issues on a .308 rifle. It is meant for it.

Mine is in QD rings on an Ultimak mount on an M1 Garand that is fed a steady diet of M72 Match. The optic, rings and mount have held up fine for over 1000 rds. The recoil impulse is much the same as the .308 M852 and M118 in the M14/M1A or AR10.
