Yes, this is a two point mount attaching to the receiver and the clip guide. You will not be able to use the clip guide once the picatinny rail has been installed.

The iron sights can still be used if there is no scope mounted on the rail.

This mount may work with the M1A Socom Scout. It was designed for the standard version of the M1A.

This mount is CNC machined from hardened steel. Should come with mounting instructions. And if not recommend reaching out to manufacturer.
