Yes, this is a two point mount attaching to the receiver and the clip guide. You will not be able to use the clip guide once the picatinny rail has been installed.

Very solid mount with a ton of adjustability. Mount sits very low to the action and causes no extraction issues while firing. Although, the install process is kind of a pain.

It has taken long, but Hi-Lux Leatherwood has finally released the Leatherwood M14 / M1A All Steel Mount to solve the issue with inconsistent dimensions. This is a Springfield Armory Picatinny Scope Rail for the M1A / M14. All the recoil loading is taken by the clip guide slot so the forces are parallel to the gun axis. This Rifle Scope Base is machined to Hi-Lux Leatherwood dimensions that fit both Weaver and Picatinny rings.
