I have a Bergara B-14 Ridge rifle. No. 5 barrel taper. 20 moa Pic rail. Scope is Leupold VX 6 with 52 mm objective. Can I get by with the high rings?

With the extra height of the base you may be able to get away with high rings provided the height of the base from receiver to top of the rail is .4" or taller.

Weaver compatible rings will be compatible with both picatinny and weaver bases. So, these can be mounted to both picatinny and weaver rails.

The Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW2 Rings come in black and silver. The black rings can either be a matte finish or gloss finish. The silver rings just come in a gloss finish.

Do the 'gloss' versions actually have a glossy finish, or are they more like a satin? The pictures make them look flatter than a true gloss.

How much height difference between a medium height ring and a high ring?

The Medium height rings come in with a height of 0.85". The High height rings come in with a height of 0.98". It may not seem like much, but it's the difference in mounting a 40-44mm objective scope vs. being able to mount a 50mm objective scope with the high height rings.

When I place these rings on the base, which side of the receiver do the levers belong? I assume the left side.

You can mount these rings with the levers on which ever side suits you better as the user. If you're a right handed shooter using a bolt action rifle, mounting the rings with the levers on the left side may be preferred to keep the right side clear of snag points while manipulating the bolt. Vice-versa for left handed shooters.
