I recommend using the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm Rifle Scope with the Ultimateslam reticle. This reticle was designed for muzzleloaders and shotguns.

Standard reticle is better than the Ultimateslam reticle. You are better off with just the 3x9x40. You will have a more Precise sight picture. The reticle on the Ultimate slam tends to cover up too much of the vitals outside 50 yards. Which also hinders precise sighting in.
