How do they measure muzzle velocity? Is it out of a 16” barrel? 18? Longer? Will it work well as a personal protection round with a 5” barrel? — 2 Answers

The manufacturer does not state the barrel length the Liberty Ammunition Animal Instinct .300 Blackout ammunition was tested with. I recommend contacting Liberty Ammunition for that information.

I just called Liberty and this velocity is achieved out of a 16” barrel. (Standard rifle length barrel for testing) this round should perform optimally even out if a 5” barrel as they have received expansion with much lower velocitiesz
