No, this Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock is designed for long action rifles. .308 is a short action cartridge and would require a short action stock like the Magpul Industries Hunter 700 Rifle Stock, for Rem. 700 Short Action, found by using the link below:

Upgrading from Hogue stock - Can I use this without the Mag Well or do I need to buy a Mag Well and Magazine to use this stock?

The Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock for Remington 700 will work with Long Action Remington 700 rifles with the factory hinge floorplate. If you want to use AICS pattern magazines the mag well adapter at the link below will work.

Will this stock system also work with a Weatherby Vanguard 7mm Mag, long action? If not, why not? Thank you for any help you can provide.

The Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock for Remington 700 Long Action Rifle is only compatible with Remington 700 model rifles or clones of that rifle. The Weatherby Vanguard does not share the same action as the Remington 700 and will not fit in the stock.

The Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock will not fit a Howa 1500. The Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock is only for Remington 700 actions. Currently there is not a Magpul Hunter Stock for a Howa 1500. The stock at the link below will work for a Howa 1500 in 7mm Rem Mag.

If your Remington 700 has a Hinge Floor Plate the Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock for Remington 700 Long Action Rifle will work. For a Remington 700 chambered in 7mm RUM you will also need the get the Magpul Magnum Magazine well for the Magpul Industries Hunter 700L Stock for Remington 700 Long Action Rifle.
