Can this be altered to fit a Kaw Valley compensator 4" long and 1.5" thick

It is designed to fit suppressors with a 1.5" outside diameter. Since it is made of a rubber like synthetic, they can be cut to length for a custom fit down to the length you need and still have it mount on with the friction as intended.

What is the outside diameter of the cover?

Once installed on a suppressor that is 1.5 inches in diameter the total outside diameter with the sleeve installed will be approximately 2.25 inches.

How difficult do you think it would be to fit this on a 1.57" can?

This is made to fit 1.50" cans, but since it is made of a rubber like synthetic, you may be able to get enough stretch out of it to fit on suppressors with 1.57" diameter. We cannot confirm 100% if it will fit, but it may be possible.

What's the material? And how easy is it to slip on and off?

It is made of a rubber like synthetic. It does not come on or off easily, the manufacturer recommends using hand sanitizer as a lubricant to aid in slipping the cover on or off.

It will not fit as it requires a suppressor to be installed.
