The Matador Arms SKS Optics Rail Rifle Scope Mount is a solid aluminum optic mount that retains zero, deflects shells, protects optics, and accepts any Picatinny bases.

Since the "expert answer" didn't actually answer your question, I'll give my two cents. When you look up quality pictures of this product, you can see milling marks on the aluminum and the edges are much sharper than a product that is cast. There is another rail available from another company that clearly states that it is cast aluminum. The close up pictures of that rail look pretty crappy compared to the Matador. Hope this helps.
