Is this the same housing that would come with the SCW pistol brace set up? I have the SCW BCG, buffer and spring that came with my Maxim Defense SCW.

This Maxim Defense Industries CQB Housing is only compatible with the CQB brace or stock. There is a different SCW housing which we currently do not have available.

will this fit on a regular pistol length buffer tube or do you have to buy the tube from maxim defense ?

The Maxim Defense Industries CQB Housing will not fit a regular pistol length buffer tube, and you will need the Maxim Defense buffer tube.

Will this work with a deadfoot arms MCS 2.5” tube?

negative, this housing is made for proprietary Maxim cqb/pdw buffer tube/systems. Their CQB brace is the second version of their original pdw brace which is discontinued. SBPDW parts should be interchangeable as Maxim designs it for SB Tactical.
