No, TRU-DOT Night Sight has an integral rail for easy attachment to picatinny rails.

Will this hold up on a scar17

The Scar 17 is known for destroying optics and this is not a sight known for withstanding the scar.

It takes about 4 slots. Meprolight will be coming out with a 45 degree offset mount in the future.
