do these even come with the barrel nut, or is gi nut needed for this one too?

Nothing comes in the box with exception to what's in the pic. You will need to have a barrel with a standard barrel nut mounted which has had the Delta ring and spring etc, removed to be able to mount this hand guard.

Does this have M-Lok slots on the bottom?

M- Lok is located at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions with pic rail across the top.
