How much lighter is this than the stock Rattler 300bo handguard?

This Midwest Industries SIG Rattler M-Lok Handguard weighs 3.8 ounces while the OEM Sig handguard weighs 5 ounces.

We have not tested it on the 5.56 version. it should work if they are using the same design as the 300blk version.

Will this fit the 300blk? Also will it cover up the barrel?

Yes. The Midwest Industries SIG Rattler M-Lok Handguard will fit the 300 Blackout Rattler. It is 5.25" while the barrel on the Rattler is 5.5".

Is there a QD slot on this for a sling? I don't see one. If not, is there a version that has one?

There are no QD cups but you could easily add one to one of the 11 M-Lok slots.

According to Sig: It will not function with a factory .300BLK handguard. This barrel requires the 5.56NATO Rattler handguard.

It should be compatible with this unit from MI.

This handguard is not compatible with the QD suppressors. There is a detailed review that explains the issue.
