Are two filters required or can only 1 filter be used?

The A4 has only one accessible filter port, as the second is sealed, so you will only use one filter at a time.

Do the filters need to be replaced after 24 hours of use?

The A4 is capable of 24-hour deployment, however the longevity of the filter is dependent on the manufacturer of the filter in use.
