The Mr. Heater Vent-Free Blue Flame Propane Heater is 19.25" in length, 11.25" in width, and 23" in height. The heater already features a built-in thermostat.

Is this an outdoor unit? To be mounted in an open air covered horse barn?

The Mr. Heater Vent-Free Blue Flame Propane Heater is designed for use in Additions, Sun rooms, and Cabins and will heat up to 250 sq. ft. This unit can be permanently mounted to the wall or securely fastened to the floor with included mounting brackets and fasteners. It should work for your application but the Propane cylinder must remain outdoors.

can i use a propane tank to operate this mr.heater?and if so,what size tank is recommended?

Yes, this heater should work with a propane tank. You would like want a 20 lbs propane tank for it's use.
