Is the reticle a fine crosshair, or is there a dot in the center of the crosshair. Both are stated in the description at different places. Thanks.

Yeah, you should not issue adjusting at 50 yards.

Review on you tube was less than promising on 40x56 target scope. I shoot benchrest at 50 and 100 yes with cz455 trainer. Is this scope good for tha

I like it a lot. Glass is clear and bright. As expected, eye relief is fairly poor. I am gradually switching to fixed, 2nd Focal Plane, scopes for my bench, non-hunting, rifles. This is a bargain for what you are getting, comparable to Weaver T series but much less money.
