The NcSTAR VISM Plate Carrier W/External Hard Armor Pockets is a plate carrier. You can use your own soft armor or hard plates inside the carrier. By itself it is not bulletproof.

The NcSTAR VISM Plate Carrier W/External Hard Armor Pockets that I would recommend is the size medium. It is also adjustable so you will have the ability to make it slightly bigger if necessary.

This is just a carrier for plates or soft armor and is NOT bullet proof.

You would want the one labeled as med, which goes from size med up to 2XL, according to NC Star.

What are the side plates dimensions, aka what is the size of the max size I could put a soft plate into it? This is for the medium to 2xl carrier.

This carrier does not accept side plates as is. However, in front and back it can take plates up to 11"x14" in size.
