The parallax is fixed 125 yd, it is not adjustable.
This scope has .1 Mil adjustments.
Yes it comes with a set of Tenebraex flip caps.
That would depend on the rifle it is going on. On an AR style or flat top rifle we recommend 1.375" to 1.54" is where most will find their most comfortable head position. Lower than that may make eye alignment difficult to achieve. For a traditional blot action rifle, one inch would likely be ideal.
The ATACR 1-8X24 has a 34mm tube.
This optic was designed as tactical scope, while it can certainly be used to hunt we have other offerings that may be more appropriate for hunting purposes.
It can be used with both. Like all Nightforce optics, the ATACR 1-8x24mm is able to withstand impacts far exceeding the recoil of .50 BMG. The reticle subtends in MRAD increments, meaning it can be used with any caliber. It is not calibrated to a specific ballistic drop.
We would recommend a height of 1.54. Taper depends on the application. If you are using it for more long range uses I would recommend a 20 MOA. If not then a 0 MOA taper would be advised.
The NightForce ATACR 1-8x24 34mm FFP Rifle Scope will have no issues retaining zero on a Scar 17 as long as you pair it with a quality scope mount. I would recommend the Steiner T-Series Cantilever Mount, found by using the link below:

The FC-DM was the first reticle released in the ATACR 1-8 and was superseded by the FC-DMx and was discontinued. The differences while minor really increase the utility of the reticle. The main difference between the two reticles is the segmented circle it was increased from 2Mrad in the FC-DM to 4Mrad in the FC-DMx and the lines thinned to keep the center open. The horizontal stadia was also lengthened to 10 Mils in the FC-DMx from 5 Mils in the FC-DM. The C597 was discontinued in 2021.
