Hello. There will be a couple differences between the two. On the first focal plane you are able to range or dial at any power. Also when you change your magnification the reticle will shrink and grow depending on where you are in your power range. On the second focal plane to dial or range you must be at high power. Also when you change your power on the second focal plane the reticle will stay the same size. If you would like further information on this please contact our Customer Service team at 208-476-9814 opt. 3. Thank you!
