As a followup to the daytime use question, how does one know that these gen 1 intensifier tubes won't be damaged as traditional gen 1 tubes would be?

It is one is going to be damaged as gen.1 tube if exposed to strong light when it switches on.

can this be mounted on a helmet or headset?

It is possible to mount it on a helmet or headset, just buy a rail like on our 1x20 binocular then can be connected to helmet. But it is too heavy to wear, we donot recommend to use like so

Yes. The NightStar 2X42 Night Vision Binocular will let you see in the daytime because they are not equipped with intensifier tubes that cause permanent damage to your equipment.

The NightStar 2X42 Night Vision Binocular has a detection range up to 250 yards. They also feature 2x magnification with a 15° field of view, and a focus range of 5 yards to infinity.
