No, the silver model will never be available again as Nikon has begun discontinuing their rifle scope lines.

Yes, that is correct. I would highly recommend looking at the part number to verify that its a DEMO. Currently the only model on this page that is a DEMO is MPN: 16591-DEMO.

That really depends on the exact height of the rings and the firearm they are being mounted too. But most medium height rings should accommodate this scope.
