I know this may sound stupid but I figured I would ask. Will this work on an ar-15 chambered in 5.56. If not will you guys get any for 5.56

Yes, most lower receiver parts are interchangeable with AR308 (DPMS) "AR-10" rifles. Reciever extension aka buffer tubes are one of them however buffers & buffer springs are not.
