I bought one of these within a couple days of buying my first AR-15 rifle AR-556. When I bought this it seemed like it would be an awesome vertical foregrip. I liked that it had storage especially since the Ruger pistol grip doesn't have a compartment built-in from the factory. Having the ability to fold it up when using a bipod seemed like a great feature. In reality those are features I never really used. The push button to fold the grip gradually comes loose when the grip is folded up and down. The durability of the plastic is great I assume since most modern plastics are, but the pivot point is weak and it wouldn't take much effort or sideways force to break it off. It doesn't feel like it's going to last a lifetime. For the range it's probably alright. For 3 gun, competitive shooting I'm fairly sure it would break if it was pushed into a barricade or dumped into a barrel. I haven't been to war but I can say I absolutely wouldn't stick it on a fighting rifle. I primarily used a bipod at the range which limited where it could go on the quad rail, too far back it would hit the magwell when the rear pin was popped. It's a tight squeeze for your figers if it's on a carbine length drop-in rail to run it with a bipod. I typically don't carry anything in the grip storage compartments since I hate hearing the rattle. It's a cool idea but it doesn't stand up to other vertical foregrips on the market even with the price point taken into account.
I bought one if these mounts to hold a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50 to finish off an AR-308 build I was working on and I absolutely love it. It has held the scope firm from the day it was mounted and has taken several hundred rounds of 168gr plus .308 Win. It's pleasing to the eye and does exactly what a good scope mount should and that is holding zero. I have it mounted on top of a Leapers UTG Pro 20 MOA riser and I've never had an issue. I absolutely would recommend this to anyone looking for a fair priced quality scope mount. I've heard mixed reviews of Leapers UTG Pro products and I can say with absolute certainty that if it is a milled part from them you've got nothing to worry about. I own a pair if their bipods as well and they are built to the same standard these scope mounts are.
I saw this and wanted it almost instantly, I held off for a while because I liked my Magpul Angled foregrip but once I found out they made it in FDE I had to buy one. After I got it on my rifle I quickly found that it wasn't very comfortable. In fact it hurts my hand and I find myself grabbing the handguard behind it instead of grabbing the foregrip. It looks awesome on my rifle without question but it just doesn't work for me. Its very thin and as a result it all the pressure goes falls righ t on my palm for my fingers. I don't have small hands but I don't hare huge hands either, (I wear size large gloves) pulling the rifle into my shoulder the grooves cut into "bite" my hand too and as a result I don't take a firm grip or pull the rifle in like I do my other rifles. Between this foregrip and my Magpul I prefer the Magpul Angled foregrip hands down and once I find a suitable replacement for this foregrip I will be changing it or just not run one at all. I'm all about function over form and merely looking good doesn't cut it for me. My Magpul Foregrip has found a home on a different AR. If the next fore grip I buy has a similar feel I will be buying an FDE Magpul Angled foregrip.
I took the opportunity to look through one of these before I bought it from Optics Planet at an unbeatable price. First off I chose the mil-dot reticle model and given that the turrets are listed as 1/8th MOA I was a little disappointed to read that after I ordered it. After getting the scope that went away as the manual states that at 12x the clicks are in 0.1 mils and it's clearly marked on the power ring. I was surprised when I got it to find that in the box there was a sun shade, taller target turrets and caps and a bikini style lens caps. I hadn't read anywhere that those were included with the scope. (SF Side Focus models only according to the manual) The clarity is great as is the light transmission and trueness of color. For the money I'm extremely happy with this scope. The weight isn't much more than most 3-9's and the magnification is excellent. My only small complaint would be the eye relief isn't a "constant 4 inch" like it's claimed to be. There is some slight movement between 4.5x and 18x but it's not a big enough issue to overlook this scope either. I have mine on my Ruger AR556 and use it mostly from a bench at the range though I have absolute confidence in its accuracy and it holding zero for hunting if I want to take it out. The turrets are super easy to reset and swap for the taller or shorter ones. I have mine mounted in a Primary Arms Deluxe Scope Mount which is at the perfect height. Overall I'm very happy with this scope and will certainly be trying o
I've got a few hundreds rounds on my AXTS BCG and it has been flawless for everyone. If your lucky enough to catch this BCG when it's on sale you can't lose. The bolt itself had the MPI proof marks on it and it meets all the requirements that top of the line BCG do. High Pressure Tested, Magnetic Partical Inspected & Shot Peened. The staking is done excellently and the Black Nitride coating on them holds up unlike phosphate finishes. There is no visible wear on it at all. I would absoultly recommend this to anyone who is looking to finish a build or to upgrade their existing AR.
