Yes. What makes this function is the muzzle velocity of the ammo fired - IE - the hotter the 300 blackout cartridge and higher the fps, the better chance this will run, and you offset that with weight of your buffer - recommend picking up an Odin 9mm adjustable buffer.
As far as I am aware it will as long as the bolt carrier group is a M16 style bolt.
