Can I run a 3x magnifier with this optic?. Not sure if it being a prism scope would be any different than a red dot in terms of compatibility — 7 Answers

No, magnifiers do not work with prism sights as it shifts the point of impact, reducing accuracy.

I have run a vortex 3x magnifier on 2 different cyclops optics out to 300 yards no problems. 2 different shooters and 2 different rifles. 10.5 inch barrels 1/7 twist 55gr Hornady TAP.

Yes, you can run this with a magnifier. Just like running a magnifier with a red dot, zero the cyclops first. Then, put the magnifier on and adjust the magnifier, not the cyclops, until it magnifier returns to zero. All magnifiers introduce zero shift unless they some how magically perfectly align to the paired optic.

Yes, you absolutely can and Primary Arms has proved that. The people saying "No" have old, clunky military style prisms or models with bad designs. Just go with matching brands for the prism or call the manufacturer before you purchase to ask about compatibility. Don't just listen to anyone on the internet, like me! Haha!

This Prism scope has an etched reticle, so it also has a diopter adjustment to focus the reticle to your eye. Because the a magnifier is “magnified” it also has a diopter adjustment to focus the reticle to your eye after being magnified. You might be able to match the two diopters up just right, but as soon as you flipped the magnifier down or *away (*shout out to ADM) the the magnifier diopter would be off.

I run a 3x magnifier behind a PA prism optic, no issues at all. the optic works with the magnifier flipped to the side or aligned.

This works, I have a 3x mounted behind a Primary arms SLx 1x. Not only does it hold zero, it magnifies the reticle so your drops are still accurate under magnification.
