No, the set screws contact the actual barrel OD - not the threads.

Yes it will, I tightened it too tight on accident and it stripped the screw, and stripped and damaged the barrel of my CZ as well.

Watch the YouTube video. It srews on to the barrel threads and when clocked right the set screws should hit smooth barrel, not the threads. Hope this helps.
