That will depend heavily on the specific caliber and the barrel's harmonics.

When the .260 rem was introduced with a 1:9" twist. They basically killed the 260. Up 130 grain bullets fine. But anything heavier needs a 1:8 twist. I encourage you to research this for yourself.
