Not entirely, the kilo1200 can resist water in most places, but I have dropped it in water and it worked afterward.

What are the max ranges this can read for various types of target?

Sig lists the effective range distances as reflective surfaces up to 1600 yards, trees up to 700 yards, deer up to 600 yards.
