Good morning.Isthis scope strong enough to bear the recoil of a 303 British caliber?

A
Answered by Del, member, from PA, United States, on January 09, 2020

I would think so. It is aptly named for its design as a Whitetail scope. 303 Brit falls right into that caliber range. You might have problems mounting this on a SMLE given the short tube area of the scope and the military design of the Enfield action. I have a No4. Mk1 set up as a Scout rifle with an XS foreard Scout mount and a Vortex Scout scope. They go together like peas and carrots.

What is the field of view at 100 yards for this scope

Answered by Del, member, from PA, United States, on January 09, 2020

Don't know if Simmons advertises the FOV but at 1x it is very generous. A good "both eyes open CQB sight when set at 1x but it gives you the ability to reach out to 200 yards easily at 4x with clear glass and a nice fine duplex reticle. Buy it now before the $20 rebate goes away!

Simmons does not provide any of the dimensions for this riflescope. From what I could find the length is approximately 11.0".

This scope has a plain black duplex reticle with NO ILLUMINATION. Consider it a 'daylight' optic.
