Specs say rated to 556/223 with recoil activation
The specifications say it’s rated for 223/556. It also has recoil activation.
It is rated for .223/5.56, but will require a mounting solution. There are a few mounting options with mixed reviews so makeup best judgement. Personally I think the main appeal of the aurora is the head wearable 1x monocular that surpasses the quality of all previous low cost digital options I’m aware of. If you’re mounting to a weapon then there’s a whole host of arguably better rifle scope options if you’re not opposed to a higher minimum magnification. Considering the only weapon rated aurora is in the$800ish price range, though 1/2 the cost of the most affordable pvs14s, your actually not far from the entry level thermal scope costs.
Iv seen it be helmet mounted in photographs but never rifle mounted
