Anybody who mocks your question is just a jackass, so ALWAYS ask when you have a gun/ammo question. If your current question is due to the name of the round being "long rifle", then your question is understandable, but the answer is still 'no, not restricted to use in rifles.' Anyway, check the barrel of your firearm. It will tell you the specific round to use. I have never seen a firearm that did not have the specific round listed on the barrel. If yours does not, the contact the manufacturer. ( A word of warning, MANY people who think they know, and many people who know that they do NOT know, will post answers, so always confirm info with the specific manufacturer, even if multiple people give you the same answers. )
