The switch can be used with some devices in that manner. Unfortunately, The TLR-2 is not designed for independent use of the light or laser. Its mode of operation would still work as set by the silver switch.

The expert answer is totally wrong. The TLR-2's laser was controlled on the assembly of the light, the remote endcap has only room for one plug (the light's one) and you can't independently control light and laser on TLR-2 using this product.
