Would you recommend this for a DPS 12 shotgun? Or any shotgun really.

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope could be used on a shotgun. However, the BDC reticle is designed for use with .223/5.56 ammo and wont be accurate for slugs.

what benefit do the AMBER & GREEN colors give compared to standard RED?

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope green reticle is going to be brighter than the red and amber reticle. However, the amber reticle is good if the user is green/red color blind.

I am mounting this on SW MP AR-15 do I need a riser and if so what type? Thanks in advance!

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope will not require a riser to function on your M&P-15 rifle. It includes a lower 1/3 co-witness mount that will set the centerline height at 1.6".

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope includes (1) CR123A battery to power the optic. It has a maximum battery life of 3,000 hours.

I'm concerned about height vs. the cheek weld on an AK platform rifle. Will it be too high to see comfortably without a riser on the stock?

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope features a 1.6" centerline, which would be much too high to comfortably use with an AK platform rifle without the use of a cheek riser.

The Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope mounts to picatinny rail. If you have picatinny rail on the top of your revolver then the Swampfox Blade 1x25mm Prism Scope could mount, however it may be large on a handgun. Another option is using a reflex sight like the one listed at the link below.
