The standard 3 oz. buffer would work well with a 10.5" barrel.

That's not enough information to give a correct answer. It depends on your gas system, caliber, and BCG. A 10.5" 5.56 pistol can very easily be over-gassed and 3oz would be way to light in that case. Do yourself a favor and get an adjustable weight buffer so you can test and tune until you find the right weight. My 11.5" 5.56 pistol requires a buffer weight between 4.75 and 5.25oz to be properly gassed. But that doesn't mean yours will need the same.
