The BDC will be off since its calibrated for 7.62x51.

Yes it'll be off a little bit all you got to do is set your. Your 1-300 yd zero will be your center dot and then 400 yd would be the next . Figure out your own dope chart n practice. That or just get the vcog that is made for a 308. I use a 223/55gr reticle for a 10.5" 556 i only run 75gr match grade ammo in n have just figured my own out... its calibrated for x39 which is a dud compared to 308 shouldn't be too hard to figure out those holdovers
