Despite the magnification this is easy to use for CQB because it is BAC (Bindon Aiming Concept) capable. This means that you can use it with both eyes open, which helps offset the magnification effect. The illuminated reticle is also easy to pick up quickly for rapid target acquisition. That said this is primarily aimed at longer range engagements, if you anticipate that you will encounter CQB situations more than distance engagements, you may be better suited to a holographic or red dot sight with a flip-to-side magnifier to still allow for longer shots. I've used both setups and really both work well, so it comes down to primary purpose and a bit of personal preference.

If you use with both eyes open you'll get a red dot affect when using for cqb. Just remember to aim 1.5 to 2 inches higher than what you want to hit to account for optic height vs bore
