can you easily shoot a mile with this scope?

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Ben, Gear Expert, from UT, United States, on March 15, 2021

The actual shooting part will come down to the person, as far as the magnification goes, 30x is alot and will allow you to see that distance and you have to take into consideration of the environmental factors as well.

Q

What are the advantages of 1st vs. 2nd focal plane.

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Ethan C., Gear Expert, from IL, United States, on February 14, 2020

On first focal plane scopes, the reticle magnifies as you increase magnification, meaning your drop markings are valid at all magnifications. The drawback is that at lower magnification, the crosshair is often very small and hard to see. On second focal plane scopes, the reticle stays the same size regardless of magnification, so the drop markings are typically only valid at maximum magnifications, however you can see the reticle easily at all magnification levels.
