What width is the front sight post? Is it larger than a standard post due the tritium?

The Troy Tritium Folding Front Sight is the same dimensions as a standard from sight.

The Troy Tritium Folding Front Sight is not spring loaded. You will have to lift it up into position, and push it down.

If you have a Picatinny rail on top of your handguard, you can install these.
