Why does this scope require a 2032 battery if there is no crosshair illumination?

This version of the TruGlo 4x32 Crossbow Rifle Scope does not use a battery or have an illuminated reticle. The version that uses a battery and has an illuminated reticle is TG8504B3L. You can find that version using the following link:

It is Realtree APG. Truglo does not specifiy a speed rating, please contact them directly for further assistance.

Can this scope compensate for arrow drop at various distances when some crossbows shoot 315 FPS while others like mine shoot 350 FPS?

It is fixed power/fixed speed. It gives an approximate drop compensation.

If you are referring to crossbow hunting, then yes, it does offer sighting lines to account for arrow drop at varying distances.
