The TRYBE Defense AR-15 5.56 Complete Bolt Carrier Group will work in an AR15 chambered in .223. If your AR is chambered in .223 you cannot shoot 5.56 but if your AR is chambered in 5.56 you can shoot .223. The guide below will explain in more detail. The Bolt Carrier Group is the housing (Carrier) that holds the bolt and other components.

Unless you have a 223 Wylde barrel then you can use both as well
