Can I use this compensator on my 9mm carbine with 1/2 x 28" threads?

A
Answered by Sabre, guest, from VA, United States, on March 20, 2019

No, 5.56/.223 is a 22 cal projectile so the bore of this comp is too tight for a 9mm round, it will thread on but when you fire it will destroy this device. You can bore it out if you're handy with a drill press or lathe...

As long as your rifle is threaded in 1/2 x28, it should work great with the Athena 5.56.

Will either model of the compensator work for a bolt action rifle?

Manufacturer Answer

As long as you choose the correct Athena variant for your caliber and it matches in thread pitch, the Athena linear compensator should work with most bolt action rifles.

Would this linear compensator be a good carry option for my EDC? Thank you.

The Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator is not compatible with 9mm. It would work for a 5.7 pistol but I would not recommend it as it was not designed for pistol applications. I would recommend using the Strike Industries Optics Planet Exclusive Strike Micro Threaded Comp, found by using the link below:

I would recommend using a micro-compensator like the Strike Industries Optics Planet Exclusive Strike Micro Threaded Comp, which can be found by using the link below:

The Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator for 5.56 should work with the CMG 5.7x28mm barrel as long as it is threaded for 1/2x28.

Will this work with the sig m400 tread (5.56)? I heard not all compensators fit a sig AR.

Expert Answer
A
Answered by Hunter, Gear Expert, from OH, United States, on August 19, 2022

The Sig M400 Tread chambered in 5.56 has a muzzle threaded for 1/2x28. So the Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator model UD10660 should work fine on the M400 Tread. Sig does not mention anything regarding compatibility issues with certain muzzle devices. If you are concerned I recommend contacting Sig Sauer to confirm compatibility of the Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator with that particular rifle.

Will this compensator work on a Hertage rough rider tactical cowboy in 22 lr revolver.

The .223/5.56 Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator will work with the Heritage Rough Rider Tactical Cowboy. However, it will be large for that gun. I recommend considering a smaller compensator.

Yes, it would be compatible. Per the manufacturer: Rated for the standard cartridges in the following calibers: 223 Rem, 5.56 x 45 NATO, 224 Valkyrie, 224 Weatherby Mag, 22-250 Rem, 222 Rem Mag, 222 Rem, 22 Nozler, 220 Swift, 22 PPC, 22 BR, 22 Hornet, 204 Ruger, 218 Bee

*the 5.7x28 is a .224 diameter bullet, so it would be compatible.
