The US Night Vision Designate IR-V Three Beam Green Laser Sight has a > 5.0 mW Class 3R green visible laser with a listed > 50 m Daylight range. It also features a > 2.5 mW Class 3R Infared laser with a listed > 1000 m range. The Dbal features a > 5.0 mW Class 3R green visible laser with 750 m range, and Class I, <0.7 mW Infared laser with a listed >250m range.

I feel your pain brother. Some companies have been sticking with older type laser diodes that are obviously weaker in their output. The Designate series will easily out-perform these traditional aiming lasers while not drawing any more power from a CR-123. Try one brother, you will also love its low profile design.

I feel your pain brother. The civilian version of the DBAL series laser has never been particularly efficient. CQB distances of 100 yards or so, the Designate series excels.
