The Viking Tactics VTAC Chest Rig comes with 4 built in M-4 magazine pouches. Based off some reviews, they can be a little tight for even Magpul PMAG's for 5.56. Because of that, I would assume that you would not be able to fit AR10 style magazines in this rig.

The Viking Tactics VTAC Chest Rig comes with 4 built in M-4 magazine pouches. Based off some reviews, they can be a little tight for even Magpul PMAG's for 5.56. Because of that, I would assume that you would not be able to fit AR10 style magazines in this rig.

Will the Magpul Gen. 3 40-round magazine fit in the pouches?

No guarantee that the Magpul M3 40rnd mags will work. They will fit the pouch but might be too tall for the retention bands.

Does this chest rig only support 5.56mm magazines or can it support 7.62mm magazines?

It is meant specifically for standard AR-15 magazines and cannot be guaranteed to accommodate the much larger AR-10 magazines.
