I ended up going to a local gun shop and asking for assistance. They suggested the same set up but all they had in stock were weaver products which I have no issue with. He said medium as well but did change his mind and give me high to be on safe side. I installed the high 30mm weaver scope rings that fit up to 50mm obj lens and my scope still rested on top of the rail on rifle. I changed them out to extra high and my scope just clears..... perfect! Thanks for your response and I hope this may help someone in the future
