I just received mine today and can confirm the sunshade is FDE and matches the scope perfectly.

Yes, The warranty is still valid as they only require the actual item apoun replacement, the VIP lifetime gaurntee is valid for this product. Be sure to adjust the paralax on the left side of your scope to the proper distance or else the image WILL be distorted. This is with any FFP scope. The distance on target needs to match the distance given on paralax
