Both the Vortex Viper and Vortex Diamond Back Rifle Scopes are durable. The Vortex Viper Rifle Scopes are considered a higher quality series of Vortex scopes. The Viper Series typically have some higher end features and clearer glass when comparing them to most Diamondback scopes. However, there are a few Vortex Diamondback scopes that have the same features as a lot of Vortex Vipers. To be able to give exact details comparing the two I would have to know exactly what Vortex Diamondback scope you are asking about.
