What’s the difference between the V-Plex reticle and the Dead Hold BDC?

Expert Answer

Answered by Hunter, Gear Expert, from OH, United States, on February 23, 2022

The difference between the Dead Hold BDC reticle and the V-Plex reticle is that the BDC reticle stands for Bullet Drop Compensator which has hold over and elevation hash marks. This is designed to help the shooter easily make corrects for bullet drop and wind once it is sighted in with your rifle. The V-Plex has a more a a traditional crosshair reticle. Both reticles can be seen on the left side of the page if you scroll through the product images.

Yes. The Mounting rings provided with the Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40mm Rifle Scope will fit and function fine as long as you have a picatinny/weaver rail on your rifle for the rings to mount to. I will link a mount below.

There are many different weaver rings that could work with this scope. I'll link a category for weaver mounted 1 inch rings below. As for the lens caps you can use the Butler Creek Lens Cap MPN: ESC40. And for the eyepiece you can use Butler Creek Eyepiece caps MPN: EEP1
Eyepiece Cap: https://www.opticsplanet.com/butler-creek-element-scope-cap-eye.html?_iv_code=BX-R2-ELSCE-EEP1
Objective Lens Cap:https://www.opticsplanet.com/butler-creek-element-scope-cap-objective.html?_iv_code=BX-R2-ESCO-ESC40
