No, it does not have a "shake awake" feature. It will automatically turn off if it does not sense motion, but it will not automatically turn on.

Auto on. on and off switch located back from view point hold up arrow for three seconds for power on. down arrow for three seconds to turn off. /You Can find the Vortex Crossfire as cheap as $135 ,does not have night vision capability Like this Sparc ar 2 ,but does have double the battery strength.
