Will this fit on other brands of tripods?

This will fit on any standard tripod that uses a 1/4x20 male thread.

Does the entire body of this spotting scope rotate in the mounting ring? In essence to allow the viewing lens to be see from above or below.

The whole body of the spotting scope rotates in a ring that is attached to the tri pod. It will rotate 360 degrees.
